Our Story
Rooted in Repair. Built to Last.
Dental Maintenance Supply™ wasn’t created in a corporate boardroom or as part of a marketing strategy. It was born from a lifetime of hands-on work, hard-earned experience, and a deep respect for the tools that keep dentistry running.
In the late 1970s, Gene Gant picked up the torch from his father — a pioneer in the industry and the very first independent dental equipment repair technician in the state of Texas. From the start, Gene was immersed in a world of moving parts, pressure gauges, high-speed turbines, and the kind of mechanical systems that demand both skill and intuition. But more than anything, Gene learned the value of making things last.
Back then, dental equipment was built differently. Tools weren’t meant to be thrown away — they were meant to be maintained. It was an era where repair was an art form, and Gene mastered it. Over the decades, he didn’t just fix equipment — he understood it. He came to know the inner workings of every valve, latch, and handpiece better than most manufacturers ever could.
Gene didn’t stop at repairs. He became a trusted voice across Texas — advising dentists on equipment purchases, helping practices prepare for sales or expansions, and appraising full offices with the insight that only comes from a lifetime in the field. He wasn’t just a tech; he was a consultant, a craftsman, and a cornerstone of the dental repair community. His name, and the Gant name, became synonymous with quality and integrity across the region.
It wasn’t long before two of Gene’s sons joined him in the trade — making dental repair a three-generation legacy. And along the way, Gene began to create solutions to the problems he encountered daily. When the products on the market fell short, he made his own. Custom lubricants, rust removers, and maintenance formulas designed by someone who actually used them.
Those same formulas — tested, refined, and trusted for years in the field — are now the heart of Dental Maintenance Supply™.
We don’t build products to sell in volume. We build them because they work — and because they solve real problems for real people in dental offices, sterilization rooms, and back benches across the country.
Gene still lives and breathes this work. It’s not a job — it’s a calling. And with every bottle we ship, every clinic we help, and every piece of equipment that runs smoother and lasts longer, that legacy is carried forward.
This isn’t about trends. It’s about trust, tradition, and tools that stand the test of time.
We’re proud to be a small company doing meaningful work — and we’re proud to carry the Gant name with us as we do it.
